OUR NORTH OF
ENGLAND WEEKEND BREAKS
Two-night weekend breaks from May to October plus a week-long trip
in August.
Accommodation
is in attractive, comfortable and friendly b&bs, hotels or lodges.
We have graded the weekends to suit different levels of experience,
ability and fitness - see the schedule - to allow you the choice
of the most appropriate trip.
The routes we use will vary depending on the grading as well as
the weather, ground conditions and group objectives.
How
to get there...
1. YORKSHIRE
DALES
An
area of stunning natural beauty, charming market towns, fascinating
places to visit and great tea-rooms. It provides an extensive range
of Mountain-Biking opportunities � from gentle tracks to severe
climbs and technical descents. Most of our trips involve a bit of
everything, although we do tailor to suit the group requirements
and riding ability.
We
use a variety of bases including Malham, Austwick and Ingleton.
2. PENDLE
Only
minutes from the Yorkshire Dales, just across the border into Lancashire�s
Hill Country.
Below
the majestic Pendle Hill lies an area steeped in history and legend
with a good network of bridleways, single-track moorland tracks
and technical sections.
3. RIBBLE VALLEY
A breath-taking
area of outstanding natural beauty with spectacular and unspoilt
landscapes at the geographic centre of the British Isles.
It
includes the ancient Forest of Bowland and Gisburn Forect which
Forest Enterprise has been developing as a mountain-bike centre.
4. SOUTH PENNINES
Famous
across the world as the home of the Bronte sisters and their beloved
but brooding moors. The
millstone grit crags may give it an air of desolation but there
are also lush but steep valleys providing challenging tests of your
bike-handling.
It
also includes the newly created Mary Towneley Loop � a 68km journey
across open moorland and ancient packhorse trails.
