TRIP GRADING
We feel
it is very useful to grade our various trips so that you will be riding with people
of similar standard. All the trips require a basic level of fitness and competence
but do not demand extensive technical ability. All trips take place in hilly areas
so expect climbs, but for the easy grades these will be steady and ridden at a
gentle pace.
A - the
easiest grade.
Suitable for the occasional cyclist who has some off-road
experience. Expect to cover distances of between 20-30km per day. |
B - moderate
grade.
Suitable for people who ride several times a month, have an average
level of fitness and have experience of riding single-track and riding over small
obstacles. Expect to cover distances of upto 50km per day and upto 700m ascent. |
| C
- expert grade.
For regular mountain-bikers of an above average level
of fitness or club-level standard. Confident on technical sections such as drop-offs
and rough climbs. |
