cyclefresh case study

Event Outline

Cycle1cyclefresh is a combination of our cycle smoothie maker and our VirtualCycle bike. The cycle smoothie maker is a bike which is attached to a blender - you simply choose which fruits to include in the smoothie and pedal the bike to spin the blender. VirtualCycle is a normal road bike on a unique trainer and is connected to a bespoke piece of software. It can be used equally as an excellent training and coaching session for the serious cyclist or an interactive cycling promotion tool providing a virtual reality cycling experience.

We have been using the VirtualCycle and smoothie maker for a few years now, but it has only recently become cyclefresh. It was decided to make them into a brand, so that people can easily identify what they are, how to hire them and can be easily accessed on a separate website.

Cycle3Anyone can hire cyclefresh: schools, councils, businesses, and we have a range of different sized bikes so that they are suitable for everyone. The VirtualCycle can also have any route the client would like set up on it, so any ability can be provided for.

The smoothie maker and VirtualCycle can be held anywhere, at any time, indoor, outdoor, weekend, weekday. We can also supply marquees so those trying out the equipment outdoors can be under shelter if it is bad weather.

Event Aims / Objectives

The main idea of cyclefresh is to promote healthy and active lifestyles for everyone trying out, producing a healthy drink through cycling. As well as encouraging people to get involved in cycling by showing them examples of routes they could do, it lets them experience the difficulty of rides.

Dependant on who is hiring cyclefresh we can adapt the use of it. for example, if a school hires the smoothie maker we can use it as a lesson for the children and teach them about healthy eating and active lifestyles at the same time as them trying out. On the other hand, with the VirtualCycle, if it is a business that hires it, it can be made into a way of raising money for charity with people getting sponsored to ride or have competitions against colleagues.

Event Budget

Cycle6The event budget varies, dependant on the scale and size of the event. The cost depends on how many members of staff are needed, how much fruit and supplies are needed for the smoothie bike, and also if you require a particularly challenging route to be uploaded to the VirtualCycle it may take a little longer for us to do.

Cycle5We offer a discounted rate for block bookings. For more information on the cyclefresh please go to www.cyclefresh.co.uk.
