The cottages4you Pendle Cycle Fest is now in its 6th year
and
this one without doubt was the biggest and best one
yet.
The Festival is organised by Pennine Events on behalf
of Pendle Borough Council and with the race technical
roles taken on by Cycling Development North West.
It was a fantastic
range of cycling entertainment, activities, retail and
displays which complemented the National Sportive and
Road Race Champs on the same weekend.

The very best of British cycling came
to this lovely part of East Lancashire to do battle
over some of the best cycling territory in the
country.
With the National Road Race Championships being
held as part of the Festival we saw the only
racing appearance of the new Sky Pro Road Team on
these shores.
Making it an absolute feast of cycling activity and
entertainment, we moved our popular Pendle Pedal and re-titled
it the National Cyclo-sportive. 557
participants entered the Sportive which took place the day before the Road Race
Champs from the same start & finish.
Complementing the racing action were activities
designed to encourage cycling and inform.
cottages4you, the headline sponsor of the fest, were
offering a prize of free holiday vouches to the
winners of the Elite race, as well as a chance to
win vouchers to all entrants of their prize draw.
Gatorade was one of the sponsors of the event and
were giving away bottles of their products to all
visitors, as well as supplying the feed stations
throughout the Sportive.
CNP Professionals, who work with Team Sky, provided
the feed station energy food.
Adidas the official clothing sponsor were selling
the official Team Sky cycling clothing, as well as a
specially commissioned Pendle Cycle Fest cycling
top.
