The Clan MTB display team
As part of the wider Make your move Kirkcaldy
project, we are delivering a series of events
designed to encourage people in the town to increase
their cycling and walking levels.
Make your move Kirkcaldy is an exciting new
project being undertaken by Sustrans and Fife Council to
encourage walking, cycling and using public transport in
this lovely town on the Forth coast.
We shall be running a number of free events
throughout the summer. It all kicks off with a lively
launch on 21st May in the Town Square featuring:
- the
renowned Clan MTB display team,
- bike try-outs,
- our
cycle-smoothie,
- local cycle groups and information
stalls.
Other events will include:
- a whole series of roadshows and Bike Fix activities during Bike Week,
- a Cycle Show and Guided
Rides at the popular Beveridge Park Festival on
3-4th July,
- a Cycle Show and Ride at
Ravenscraig Park
- and a guided MTB ride in
the Fife Outdoor Access Festival.
More details on these other events will be added in due
course.
Make your Move Kirkcaldy is the first
partnership project of this kind in Scotland. Through
practical projects such as the construction of new
walking and cycling routes, school and workplace travel
planning and a community street design exercise and the
events it aims to encourage more cycling and walking,
with benefits to people’s health as well as making
Kirkcaldy a better place to live and visit.
