Bradford Gets Running!
Records fell galore on Sunday at the Bradford City
Run, new course record, highest number of entrants, best
weather.....(well okay it was the first Bradford half
marathon.....!).
Just over 1,500 entrants, which represented a 50%
increase from last year’s inaugural 10miler, including
an international winner in Michael del Monte from
Canada. In an effortless running style he sped round the
challenging (ie hilly) course in 1:13:07 to win by
nearly 3 minutes from Stephen Broadbent. We like
Michael’s comments on the race....
”The race was fantastic. Well run, well marshalled
and overall a great event”!
Michael talks more about his experience in his
interesting blog - titled
"The view was breathtaking and the hills were
heartbreaking".
Michael Del Monte - winner of the
Bradford City Half Marathon
With a major traffic management operation in
the heart of Britain’s 6th biggest city, this is one of
our more complex and demanding events to put on, but
also one of the most satisfying. With not just the
half-marathon but a relay along with 5k, 3k and 1k fun
runs there’s plenty of scope for anyone to take part.
Already we’ll start planning for next year when we
intend to develop it further and possibly add a couple
of extra activities.
