This year’s River of Light was themed ‘Rhythm of Light’ and consisted of 12 mesmerising installations across a 2km trail around Liverpool city centre, each celebrating and highlighting the relationship between Liverpool, music, and light. Across the 17 nights, over 150,000 people gathered in the city to experience the beauty of the art from all over the world, making it the most successful River of Light to date!
Already filled and built with a plethora of art and culture, the trail spanning across the Pier Head, the Town Hall, The Albert Dock and Liverpool One was the perfect combination, with the installations complimenting the cities heritage and vice versa.
Working with and contracted by Culture Liverpool, Pennine Events were brought in as safety managers on the event which consisted of overseeing a 9-day build on the event and a 3-day de-rig, ensuring the safety of the teams and the general public. The nature of the event meant our safety manager had his work cut out monitoring 12 individual sites, however, with all his experience and knowledge of the industry, safety manager Keith rose to the challenge and the build and de-rig went off without a hitch!
Yet another fantastic event for Pennine to have been apart of and we take our hats off to all of the incredible artists for their beautiful work!
