For the last few years, Pennine events has headed to Lancaster for Bonfire night and this year was no exception!

The team, along side with Lancaster council, were tasked with producing and managing a 2-day light festival across the 5th and 6th of November, with a huge firework display set to be the grand finale on the Saturday night.

Unfortunately, due to some high winds and poor weather conditions, the tough decision was made to cancel the fireworks display, with the interest of the safety of the staff and the public at the heart of the decision (click here to read our article on the process and procedures followed to reach this decision.)

However, Pennine Events still had a fantastic 2-day event to run, and it was all hands-on deck to make it a success! Of course, the team pulled it off and over 55,700 people gathered in the city centre to enjoy stunning art installations and roaming entertainment across the city centre and amazing light shows at the historic Lancaster Castle. In fact, on the Friday night, the footfall was 40% higher than in 2019- a phenomenal achievement for everyone involved!
