ALMOST 3000 CYCLISTS PEDALLED FOR PURPOSE AND RAISED OVER £88,000 IN THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LCL BIKE RIDE.
The 30th anniversary of the historic LCL bike ride saw almost 3000 riders take on the tunnel. With the highest number of participants since the global pandemic, LCL continues to prove itself as a highlight in the annual Liverpool event’s calendar, attracting people of all ages and abilities from across the Northwest, North Wales and beyond, to take on one of our 6 epic routes and soak in the feel-good vibes.

This year saw a brand-new Chester site at Dale Barracks, the perfect family-friendly fun day, hosting an array of activities from a big top circus tent and circus performers and BMX stunt show, allowing participants and the local community to truly celebrate 30 years of LCL in style. Our epic festival village returned for another year at Exchange Flags, providing our participants the perfect space to kick back and relax and enjoy a well-deserved drink or two or a sunny afternoon with the family to celebrate their fantastic achievements. With live music on the world’s smallest festival stage, for the second year running Exhange Flags, once again, did not disappoint.
A record total of £88,000+, was raised this year for over 20 different charities including our 5 incredible charity partners, Alder Hey Childrens Charity, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, Northwest Cancer Research, Woodland Hospice and Railway Children as well as our brillint headline Charity, NSPCC, who joined us for a second year. The money money will be invaluable for those in need across our local community. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who raised money or donated to our brilliant charities at this year’s LCL.

A definite highlight of the year for the team was being featured on the BBC Trave Show. In honour of our city hosting Eurovision, the BBC released a brilliant episode ‘The Greatest Showmen’, highlighting all the amazing things Liverpool has to offer, and we are honoured to to have been featured in the ‘Things To Do’ segment of the show! It’s a seriously proud moment to see LCL featured on such a high-profile channel. As an owned event, LCL is an event that we pride ourselves on as a company, seeing thousands of people come together, the sense of community and raising thousands of pounds for brilliant local charities every year.
We can’t wait to for all the fun to start over again as we gear up for another year of the LCL Bike Ride in 2024!
