We’ve project-managed some amazing sporting events for charities, local authorities and public bodies. Here are just a few examples:

  • Scotland’s biggest bike ride – Pedal for Scotland, now with over 9000 participants – has been our responsibility since 2007, during which time the event has won nine awards.
  • We helped stage the Tour de France on the last two occasions it visited the UK. In 2014 we worked with North Yorkshire County Council to manage stages one and two; in 2007 we worked on stage one through the Southeast of England on behalf of Kent County Council for which we were awarded a Commendation by the Metropolitan Police.
  • Pennine Events helped organise the 2010 National Road Race Cycle Championships, the biggest one-day cycle race in Britain. The event featured the first UK racing appearance of Team Sky plus all the top British pro riders including Mark Cavendish, David Millar, Lizzie Armitstead, Nicole Cooke, Emma Pooley, Jeremy Hunt and Ed Clancy. The race was the first domestic competition shown live on Eurosport, the first road race held on a closed road circuit, and we’re proud to say it matched the staging of any major continental race.
  • Each year we stage the London to Brighton and the Manchester to Blackpool Night Ride cycle events on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.
  • We help organise the colourful Night of Neon walk in Salford on behalf of Christie Hospital.

As you can see, we’re experts in orchestrating complex, mass-participation spectator events in any setting. We engage with every kind of organisation and public body to pull off memorably audacious projects that our competitors would not even attempt.

You may wish to raise the profile of your town, organisation or charity, you may wish to make an impact on residents’ well-being, or support healthy lifestyles more generally and nurture community spirit. Whatever your needs, come to us with a draft idea and we will flesh it out by designing the kind of showcase your organisation can be proud of.

We will not only plan every detail – or as many as you would wish – we will also stage the event and arrange the logistics, i.e. all the ‘heavy lifting’. After the event we will debrief your staff, evaluate its overall impact, and recommend a development strategy for next year.
