The nights are drawing in and there is a definite chill in the air as we here at Pennine Events begin our Christmas preparations. Decorations go up and we reflect on how successful 2010 has been.

With our last event of the year Colne Christmas Light Switch On, going off with a bang, the evening was a great fun family event, and with not one but two amazing bands, people really got into the festive spirit.

2010 has seen record-breaking timings at the National Road Race Championships, amazing fundraising at BBC Children in Need Tower to Tower Ride, record breaking 9000 cyclists taking part in Pedal for Scotland and even the Best UK Sports Event awarded for Pedal for Scotland. Alongside Pennine Events staff getting into medieval character for The Chase, this year has certainly been an eventful one!

With our staff working hard on the preparations of 2011’s event calendar to bring you bigger and better events, we can give you some advance notice of the dates for a number of next year’s events:

• Harrogate to Holyrood 220mile Cycle Challenge: 15th – 18th June 2011

• The Nocturne Series Edinburgh: 2nd July 2011

• Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride: 3rd July 2011

• The Bowland Beast Cycle Challenge (formerly Pendle Pedal): 7th August 2011

• Pedal for Scotland: 11th September 2011

• Bradford City Run: – half marathon plus other family routes 2nd October 2011

• Night of Neon: 10km night time walk October 2011
