Pendle Pedal 2009

Pendle Pedal is one of the country's toughest sportives.

Cyclists choose either a 60-mile or a 100-mile ride through the beautiful and hilly Pendle, Ribble Valley, Lune Valley and Forest of Bowland countryside in a part of Lancashire known as Pennine Lancashire. The cyclists will ride over some of the quietest roads in the country, through stunning countryside and over climbs steeped in cycling folklore, such as the Trough of Bowland,Waddington Fell, Tatham Fell and the Nick O'Pendle. Tests which have been set for professionals in previous Tour of Britain, Kelloggs Tour and Milk Race races.

By the time they've reached the finish the riders will have climbed over 3500metres.

In 2008 over 500 cyclists entered!

Eric Wright Construction is once again sponsoring the event - now in its fourth year.

Full ride support services (including pick-up vehicles, full route marshalling and signage) and well-stocked refreshment stations are provided.

  • Full Tour 160km(100 miles) - 4 refreshment stations on this route
  • Midi tour 100km (60 miles) - 2 refreshment stations on this route

Free Cycle Festival

Come along and spend the day at the Free Cycle Festival at the start/finish venue. This is free for everyone including demos and displays.
