The Scottish Bike Show Sportive is Scotland’s newest mass participation cycle event. ‘ A Tour of the Lochs and The Trossachs area’ - with two challenging routes through the most stunning countryside of The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, on Sunday 15th April 2012.  Included within your entry for this ride you will receive a complimentary ticket into The Scottish Bike Show.

Both the 100 mile route and the 65 mile route will test all round biking skills, with some tough long climbs and fast descents, whilst taking in some of Scotland’s most beautiful glen, loch and mountain landscapes en route.

The 100mile Sportive ride passes through Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, over the dramatic Dukes Pass, through Lochearnhead and along the shores of Loch Lomond and Loch Long.

The 65 mile Challenge includes passing through Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, over the dramatic Dukes Pass and around Loch Katrine.

Starting at Balloch Castle on the shores of Loch Lomond both rides head north east with long testing climbs towards Aberfoyle; and continuing up to Loch Katrine. At this point the shorter Challenge route splits off west and tours around Loch Katrine before heading back via Stronachlacher; passing Loch Chon and Loch Ard. The route then turns towards Balloch Castle and the finish.

It is at Loch Katrine that the Sportive route heads eastwards towards Kilmahog.  The Sportive riders will then travel north passing Loch Lubnaig, Lochearnhead and Loch Earn, before heading west passing Loch Lubhair and Loch Dochart to Crianlarich.  After Crianlarich the route heads south passing Loch Lomond, Loch Long and Glenmallan, Auchenvennel and Dumfin before the final run back to Balloch Castle.

There are 4 feed stations on the 100mile Sportive ride and 3 feed stations on the 65-mile Challenge ride, and both routes are fully signed and marshaled. Both routes are also fully supported by both mechanics and first aid crews.
